Roast beef on kimmelweck, with aujus and horseradish. As Buffalo as chicken wings... Anderson's ® Frozen Custard, Ice Cream and Lemon ice. These tastes are unique to Buffalo.
Anderson's ® began in New York City in 1946. Carl Sr. and his wife Greta started a small shop after World War II, selling custard cones & lemon ice. Homesick for Buffalo, they returned and proceeded to invest all their savings into another custard stand. This Store was located on Kenmore Avenue. Soon Carl felt that another move was needed in order to accommodate the bigger crowds, which gathered during summer evenings at their store.
Carl & Greta sold that location to the Longo family and purchased a vacant lot in the country with the idea of building another stand. This time it would include enough parking to serve the largest summer crowd. Anderson's ® is still located at the country location on Sheridan Drive. Hardly considered country anymore, it still can park nearly 90 cars during the summertime.
Carl and Greta Anderson created a reputation for 'Beef on Weck' and Frozen Custard in the Western New York area that is unmatched, even today. Carl & Greta provided only the best product to their guests. They pursued quality, cleanliness and guest satisfaction. Soon there was no doubt that to get the best-frozen custard in Buffalo, one must go to Anderson's ®.
Come and taste the wonderful flavors of Anderson's ® at any of our 8 area locations.
